Learn to dive - Beginner Courses - Small Groups - 20yrs Experience

Normally the PADI Open Water Course is the first step along the ladder and a great place to get started. You become qualified to dive without instruction, anywhere in the world. The course is the same through out the world, but the instructors and level of tuition changes from dive centre to dive centre. Diving is one of the best sports in the world when it is safe, we strongly suggest good tuition so you are competent and confident for when you are diving on your own. Our scuba diving courses are carried out in 3 locations:

PADI diving courses in Lanzarote:
Lanzarote has been voted as one of the best places to learn in Europe. Our dive centre is right outside a protected bay hosting a small reef, making it safe for you to learn in the sea rather than in a swimming pool. I know what I would prefer!

PADI diving courses in Dahab:
Dahab holds two of the top 20 dive sites in the world. Simply, Dahab is relaxed, fun and has kept its culture. The centre is idyllic with hammocks by the beach, a social bar, beach bbq's and plenty more. An ideal place to experience diving and do some other activities whilst on holiday.

PADI diving courses in Sharm el Shiekh:
Diving in Sharm is a must. Virtually every diver dives in the red sea at one stage of their life. It is known for its vibrant underwater and above water life. You will never be board in Sharm! The diving really is that good here. From small tropical fish to giant whale sharks, Sharm el Sheikh will leave you flabbergasted! Don't take my word for it, try it yourself.

We offer the PADI National Geographic Open Water diver and speciality diving courses on our diving holidays. PADI and the National Geographic have combined and created unique diving courses. They end in a scuba diving certification, and are done in Sharm el Sheikh, Red Sea, Egypt. The course's emphasis is on the study and observation of marine life, and the skills you need to do this safely. We both had a brilliant time, & we were both very pleasantly surprised with how friendly the staff were, especially you (& no I'm not just saying it because you're the recipient of the email! You were brilliant, even helping us out with the pharmacist for Sharon - heaven knows how you managed to maintain your chirpiness & energy - maybe you should publish your secrets??

I would love to pick up with active adventures again - especially the guys from Famara - say a huge thank you to them for me. Also huge thanks & apologies to Ivan (not sure if that's how he spells his name (Brazilian bloke) - who even went so far as lending me his own personal wetsuit the day that I left mine at the shop!!) Can't forget the Calypso team - they were all very good to us - and a great scuba diving course..

We didn't take many photos whilst we were out there, but without sounding cliched - I can feel the warmth of the sun over me whilst I sit at my drab, grey desk, with my flaking tan (nice though eh?) day dreaming about surfing & diving in Lanza'. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

Hi Kate,
Sorry for the delayed reply.  I had a few more days at home once I got back from Sharm!  Sadly I'm back at work now and it's all beginning to seem like a distant memory!!

 Now for feedback!  I had a great time in Sharm.  The hotel was very clean and the food was good and reasonably priced.
I can't emphasise enough how absolutely fantastic Moon divers were.  Yayah was a fantastic host and made me feel like a family member coming to visit.  He went out of his way to make me welcome, keep me entertained and to make sure everything was ok.  I left feeling like I was leaving friends (they were especially excited about my birthday and indulged me with cake and dinner and pressies!)

My dive instructor, Mohammed, was brilliant (apparently selected by Yayah because of his large size and my belief that fish stare and stalk you!)  The fact that I had one on one tuition was great and made the whole learning experience fun and easy.  They provided an portable DVD player and PADI DVD's to watch in my own time (by the pool!)  I stayed on and did some more dives once I had completed the PADI course and had another instructor, Kornelia, for a buddy.  She was great too and made me feel like a 'real diver' not a student!  The whole outfit is incredibly professional and has a fun and safe approach.  I could definitley see the difference in quality when compared with the service that other divers and dive students that I met were receiving.  I think you have a real gem of a place there!

The Red Sea and the surrounding landscape was also fantastic.  In just a few metres of water there were more fish to see than I could take in!  There were loads of Lion fish, rays, giant moray eels and napolean fish to name a few.  I didn't see anything that could eat me (much to my relief and everyone elses disapointment!) due to the cooler water.  Moon diver encouraged me to return in summer to view the 'bigger & badder' fish!  I may even do another scuba diving course!?!

Hope that helps!  Think I'll pop off and try to find an extra warm wetsuit before I brave the water here!

Hello Cameron,
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Cameron, Pati and the rest of the Active Adventures crew.  Our time on the island was fantastic!  It was great to see so many investment bankers out enjoying the sunshine and surf.  I would gladly book another trip to hang with you kids!  The surprise wine-tasting was a treat and Ignacio's knowledge of the Islands volcanic history was fab.
