Scuba Diving Information
Average 20 metres visibility, winter sea temp of 19 degrees
celsius, summer water temp of 24 degrees celsius. Bottom composition
mixture of sand and lava rock. 3 to 4 metre tidal changes, rarely strong
currents. Islands provide sea mounts in the Atlantic Ocean, 40 miles
off the African coast.
Life
Definately will see:Common damsel, blue
fin damsel, yellow-stripped bream, tiger bream, common moray eel, bugue,
barracuda, rainbow wrasse, atlantic wrasse, arrowhead crab, assorted
sponges, nudibrancs, grouper, trumpet fish, spotted bream, flounders,
mullet, goat fish, scorpion fish, weaver fish, rock fish, hermit crab,
yellow-stripped jack, zebra bream, cardinal fish, sea urchins, lizard
fish and much more...
Hopefully
will see: Dolphins,
angel aharks, giant atlantic ray, electric ray, eagle ray, tiger moray,
sea horse, cuttle fish, octopus, sand eel, stargazer, tuna, sun / moon
fish, atlantic turtles and more!
Guided
Dives: Dives from 3m to 100m. Wrecks, caves, drop-offs, swimthroughs,
stunning lava topography, nitrox, decompression, you name it. Small
groups, up to 3 dives a day, highly experienced guides, tailored dives,
20 to 24 degree C water temp.
Training:
PADI, BSAC, SSI, ITDA, PSA & TDI. From 2 day beginner courses
through to instructor levels. We teach to high standards. Safety and
fun are our priorities.
We
are not a travel agent. Our managing director is a PADI IDC
staff instructor, trained in a BSAC school, is a PSA and TDI instructor
and has completed over 1,000 dives in Lanzarote.
Dive
Sites
There are over 20 guided dives available. The pick of the bunch are
descirbed below (in order of experience).
Playa
Jablillo - 5m, perfect beginner dive. Beach entry, confined
water, lots of sea life.
Los
Erizos Wrecks - 18m or 38m dive, 5 wrecks, drop-off, often
rays and moray eels.
Charco
Del Palo - 20m, abundant caves and swimthroughs, stunning lava-scapes,
angel shark zone.
Cathedral
- 30m, Large cavern, groupers, drop-off, stunning (especially with the
champagne bubbles).
Black
coral
- 50m, field or black coral with swallow-tailed sea perch, caves, large
Atlantic rays.
Equipment
Most divers use a 1or 2 piece 5mm wetsuit, those who get cold
quickly use a 6 to 7 mm semi-dry. Gloves and hood are optional, hood
advised in winter.We can supply all the kit idf needed. We use 10l,
12l dumpy or 15l tanks. We provide 200 bar tank fills. We can supply
up to 40% O2 for standard nitrox use. torches can be hired, and are
fun in caves.
